Shrek Is Paying a Visit to Athena in the Latest Lords Mobile Collab Event

IGG’s Lords Mobile is playing host to a big, green monster all this month and next.

It’s not an orc. It’s not a goblin. It’s not even the Incredible Hulk.

It’s Shrek!

Until January 31st, a number of characters from the hugely popular franchise will be paying a visit to the Kingdoms of Athena, including Donkey, Fiona, Puss in Boots, and the big man himself.

For the somehow uninitiated, the Kingdoms of Athena is the fantastical kingdom where Lords Mobile is set. It’s the battleground where more than 640 million players have collectively spent billions of hours locked in combat.

Released in 2016, Lords Mobile is a polished, accessible, outrageously successful strategy MMO featuring elements of tower defence, city-building, and several other genres besides.

It’s also one of the biggest mobile games on the planet, making it a fitting host for the Shrek family.

Fittingly, IGG has pushed the boat out for this collaboration, arranging for snow sculptures of Shrek and Oathkeeper—Lords Mobile’s giant knight—to be created and displayed at the Jingyuetan National Scenic Spot in Changchun, China.

And you can be part of this impressive real-world spectacle. Between December 4th and 10th (GMT-5) Lords Mobile is holding a Guild Fest event, and if your guild makes it into the top ten your crest will be added to the sculpture.

Back in the game, meanwhile, you’ve got the opportunity to win a whole host of real and virtual rewards.

First up, there’s the Shrek’s Adventure event, where finding page fragments and finishing puzzles lets you win event-exclusive items such as a Shrek castle skin, avatars, artifacts, and emotes.

And you can get your hands on all the same stuff at the Far Far Away Shop, which lets you trade in exclusive items for various goodies.
