Rick and Morty SimuLockDown Brings Mortal Kombat To Itch.io!

2025-11-29

Rick and Morty SimuLockDown is the pixel fan-game entry into the Rick and Morty mega multiverse! This impressive game which launched on Itch.io doesn’t shy away from bringing the beloved wacky characters residing in this outrageous series along with it. Whilst it hasn’t launched in full yet, test players are encouraged to help flesh out any bugs.

Rick and Morty SimuLockDown

Picture Rick and Morty Simulockdown as the tamer version of Mortal Kombat. You head to a familiar setting and get into vicious battle brawls and scuffs with all kinds of aliens alike from across the multiverse. Yes, even Pickle Rick is here. There are currently 3 different battle rooms including the infamous battle dome from that one episode where Morty had a dummy thicc arm.

Each battle space has been carved to perfection pixel-by-pixel. On a personal note as a Rick and Morty fan, this game has done so much justice to the title that I’m claiming it as an official game. I imagine I’d prefer this in full release to Pocket Morty anyway…

Hopefully, we won’t have to wait long for the full release as the teased coming soon section holds plenty of fun sneak peeks. Alongside the 3 battle arenas we currently have there are 3 more in the works. Let’s not forget the highlight being which playable characters feature!

Playable Characters List

  • Morty – With the thick arm!
  • Terry – Scary Terry
  • Noobnoob – Only the best hero… Janitor ever.
  • Garzopfield – Definitely not Garfield
  • Rick [Coming soon]
  • Bird Peron [Coming Soon]
  • Mr PoopyButtwhole [Coming Soon]

Alongside the dimmed coming soon features are three tiles highlighted only by “Soon”! I wonder who else gets a spotlight? I’m taking my guess now that Squanchy will squanch his way into this project.

I’ve Turned Myself Into A News Morty! I’m News Rick!

This Metroidvania-style game can be run through the Itch.io browser, downloaded to a PC, or even be ported to Android. (Lucky… I’m an iOS user). So what fun are you getting yourself into? Enriched with the classic arcade 2D pixels style and colorful creatures, you take to the ring as one of many familiar faces. Unleash a variety of zany attacks and stomp the competition wherever they crop up to crown yourself the victor!

As mentioned, you can catch this title over on Itch.io and support the DEVs there too. Don’t forget to check out more of our news for other upcoming releases! Doomsday Paradise Lets You Flirt with Monsters While the World Ends.
